Update on links

HI All,

I just updated the links on the right column of the page and sorted them according to project number. Most are personal websites of the artists, but a few don't have their own sites, so I posted a good source for finding their images. If you click on the photosdonotbend site you'll find those photos from Esteban Pastorino Diaz. Near the bottom there's a picture of a camera, you can click on it for some information on the type of camera and process that he uses. That's the most information I could find.

Have a nice week!

I decided to do pictures of me throwing dice onto a roulette wheel. It was difficult to get a shot of the dice being thrown. These were my 2 favorites

I've decided to make my object paper or writing. I still have a long ways to go with this one, especially with the second shot. Getting the timing right on that has been pretty tricky...

Work In Progress

I haven't had a lot of inspiration yet for this project, I guess I'm hoping an idea will just hit me soon. However, the first idea I had was a book flipping. The pages in motion, then my hands in motion dropping the book. I think I got some really good shots for this idea, but I am planning on re shooting, perhaps even a new idea all together... But, I don't know, the idea's growing on me.

Project 2

I have a few different ideas for this project, but in this one I am using a quarter as my object.

Still/motion project

Well, I am still playing with this, this is my second batch of photo's and attempts at setting my new camera.
I started with my son's sit and spin.
honestly it was there so I gave it a whirl.
No real depth to these lol.

I dont know if it will be my final project but I had fun and thought some of the images were cool, while a little boring.. also not 100 percent sure you can really see the object moving as it's subtle.

Me still/object moving Me moving/object still

just for fun.

I'm going to work on exploring another object this weekend.
I have some other ideas in mind now that I think I have the basic concept.

Jackie Fyler Project 02

This is me laying on my bed. I am playing with my little girls pooh bear activity ball. I always lay in my bed and play with her. I figured playing with the ball over my belly would show me playing with her. My object is in motion and I am still.
This is me in my new rocking chair that my mother got me for the baby. The chair is in the livingroom so everyone can rock the baby to sleep or when she is feeding. I am in motion rocking in the chair, and my object is still on the arm of the couch. I do not like the speaker in the background, but I had already moved enought stuff in my livingroom to get this shot. I am going to have to try and photoshop it out next class, because my stepfather would have killed me if i messed with his new surround sound; I guess its a guy thing, haha.

Last semester I was a full time nanny and these are the two kids I was watching. The top photo is Cameron (6) posing for the camera and on the bottom is his little sister, Keira (10 months) sleeping in the stroller!
Visiting family in Hawaii, summer 2008, took a drive around the island and saw this beautiful scene.

Michele

I love this picture because getting
all three kids together now at the
same time and place is impossible!
Plus they are my favorite subjects
to take a picture of!

How often do you see teenage siblings

having fun together!

I love this photo because it reminds me of being
there. The sound of rushing water is very peacefull
to me. I also like the dark quiet color.

This is my then 12 year old trying to impress mommy!

I like this shot because I actually got a picture with

him making a little jump!

Ashley's Photography.

This self-portrait is titled "Completely Exposed",
and consider it to be my inspiration.
I've had a love of photography for as long as i can remember,
and a series of really hard events occur in my life.
This photo was the outcome of a terrible day,
as well as the moment that my life started to change again.
For that, and so many other reasons,
it is and will eternally be my favorite.

The day of my brother's (pictured) high school graduation
was one of the first days that my grandfather (also pictured) had been out in a while.
This photograph is clearly of my brother helping him down the front stairs.
Now, i am and will forever be, critical of my work
so the fact that my brother's attention was caught by the camera,
to this day, really bothers me.
Even still, i can't help but love the overall outcome.
The piece is untitled.

Another image of my grandfather.
I'm almost certain that it was taken on fathers day.
He's 83, going on 84 years of age this month.
And sadly enough, not the healthiest of men.
At this time, he was still living at home,
he was sent to the Emergency Room in August,
had a series of tests done and has been in
a Nursing Home ever since.
Things are really hard on my mom and grandmother
but he's better off there.
My favorite elements of this photo are the raw emotion
and of course, the effect that the sunlight gives.

.......

If you've noticed a pattern, then you are most definitely correct.
I absolutely LOVE capturing emotion!
And i figured something a little lighter was the best way to end this post.

.......

My brother and his girlfriend were nice enough to be my "subjects"
for the day.
They're young and in love,
therefore a lot of fun to photograph.
I'm pretty sure i took somewhere around 200 photos that day,
if not more.
But this was one of my personal favorties because
i love that i was able to capture that
"in the moment" image.

Christina's Pictures

So... Looking at everyone else's beautiful pictures made me realize I'm probably the least creative person in this class. All my pictures are of me and my friends...boring!! This picture is the ocean outside my hotel in Miami a few years back. It was shortly after katrina and all the storms went through so it was still messy with debris.
This is my friends daughter Leah at Green Lakes. Its amazing how litte kids can occupy themselves with a little sand and rocks.

Jackies Photos

This is me. I have always wanted to do a pregent photo shoot since 10th grade but I couldnt find a pregent person who would let me. I finaly got my photo shoot. My sister and I id thsn over the weekend. I had to train my little sister with my 35mm cam. I had her stand in place so I could set the lighting and set up the cam. Than all she had to do was wind the film and press the botton for me. She has done this for me once before and loves it. Because of this she now wants to take photo classes in highschool.
This is another photo shoot I did for my friends aunt in the summer of 2007. My friends aunt is a hair stylest and these where her male modles. This was alo tken with my 35mm cam.

This if from the same photo shoot, but done with my digital cam becuas we ran out of film lol. when I took the pic I didnt' relize that my guy friend sam was standing on the bus. We didnt relize he was in the frame till I was playing with the coloring on the computer (just somehting I do for fun, not anything that I think im great at)

This I took in aug. We had just moved in to our new house and I was exploring in our new back yard with my cam and found this set up behind the grauge. I dont know why I like it, its just somehitng that caught my eye.
I almost have my hole photo portfolilo on my myspace. I have everythign that Ive done since Ive been out of highschool. I'm working on getting my hischool stuff on there, I just have to get one or two more pics. But if your instrested my myspace is private but if you add my and just tell my that your in this class with me ill add you so you can see it. My ulr is http://www.myspace.com/tiedtotesttubs

Lori's photos

This is a picture of one of the few flowers in my friends front yard. I took this picture the day I got my new camera and I just randomly snapped a picture of the flower and it came out pretty cool. What I like about this picture is the way the sun looks on the flower and how random it was.
This picture was taken at Fair Haven state park beach. What I like about this picture is the way the sun reflects off the water and the waves in the water.

This picture was also taken at Fair Haven beach. I randomly took this picture because I liked the way the sky looked from the angle in the picture and the way everything looks in the picture.
